May 4, 1989 - December 17, 2004 

Happy Cat was the creator of "MEOWSETTE" and served as Senior Editor until her departure to her next life. Her presence will always be felt here; she will never be forgotten. Anyone who knew her can't help but feel envy for those who are lucky enough to be where her fours paws touched down next.
On Sunday, December 26, 2004, cats from many neighboring communities filled Oakwood Park to celebrate the life of, and bid their last farewell to, Happy Cat. She was a friend to many and a foe to none. Even dogs lined the perimeter of the park to say goodbye. Out of respect, not one dog stepped a paw into the park. At the end of the day, hundreds of butterflies were released to signify her flight into her next life. Have a safe journey Happy Cat, we will miss you!

She was a very special kitty, who loved life, enjoyed meditating in the sun, and truly lived up to her name; always happy and purring.

She will be missed so much.
